Volunteering has always been “in my blood” so to speak as I think back to when I was 16 years old and volunteered as a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol at our local ski hill where I grew up. But everything came to a forefront volunteer wise when I became a member of Kin back in 1992. I truly loved what Kin stood for and it was great to be a part of a club that was doing so much for the local communities.

During that time besides chairing many events put of by our club, I have taken on every executive position in my club at least three times. As well I have served as Vice Deputy Governor twice and Deputy Governor five times representing our zone at the District Level.

By far one of the proudest moments of my Kin career was when I was made a Life Member of our great association. I was totally blindsided when it happened, but truly humbled. It truly was a moment that I will always cherish.

I currently hold the position of Club Support/Communications on our district team and am looking forward to working with the rest of the district executive under Governor Jody’s leadership where the focus will be “Going back to our roots”. It’s going to be an exciting year for district 7.

Outside of my Kin family I recently retired from a management position with the NL Government and am currently running my own business. I am as well very much involved in the day to day running and operation of my wife’s family businesses.

Besides Kin, I would have to say my passion is working in my shop and restoring older vehicles in my spare time.
