Kinsmen Club of Botwood Mark Anniversary of National Kinsmen Organ Donor Awareness
The Kinsmen Club of Botwood held a dinner and dance on Saturday, April 23 to mark the 15th Anniversary of the National Kinsmen Organ Donor Awareness Campaign. It was a resounding success. Proceeds from the event will go to Wendy King as she continues her pulmonary hypertension journey in Toronto where she awaits a double lung transplant. Her husband Stephen King is with her. A final tally from Saturday night’s event was close to six thousand dollars.
Carson King is a long-time member of the Kinsmen Club of Botwood and past deputy governor of Zone 5, District 7. Wendy has a long-time connection to Kin, not only through Carson, but her father as well. Frank Woolridge was a member of the Kinsmen Club of Mount Pearl and is currently a member of the K-40 Club there.
It’s time to increase our awareness about organ donation issues and extend that education throughout the communities we call home.
