District 7 Awards – District Convention 2016

Lorraine Lowerison Kinette Attendance Award: Is presented to the Kinette club having the highest percentage of members at club meetings this Kin year.

Winner: New Glasgow Kinette Club with a 75% attendance rate.

 

Ray Wamboldt Attendance Award: Is presented to the Kinsmen club having the highest percentage of members at club meetings this Kin year.

Winner: Bridgewater and Area Kinsmen Club with a 93% attendance rate.

 

Charlottetown Membership Award: Is awarded to the Kinsmen Club showing the greatest net increase in membership on April 30th 2016, compared to April 30th, 2015.

Joint winners: Witless Bay and Area Kinsmen Club & the Bible Hill Kinsmen Club who stood at +4.

 

Joe Savoie Memorial Quill Award: This award is presented to the best Kinsmen editorial submitted for publication in the last edition of our District Bulletin / Tides.

Winner: Patrick Bowers, Sackville Kinsmen Club.

 

 

District 7 Kinette Quill Award: Presented to the best editorial submitted for publication in our District Bulletin / Tides.

Winner: Sue Gallant, Kinette Club of Central PEI.

 

 

District 7 Kinette Senior Bulletin Award: is presented to the Kinette Club, with 15 members or more, whose bulletin has stimulated interest and produced an effective means of club communication. This award recognizes the club bulletin editor and the club for outstanding publication.

Winner: New Glasgow Kinette Club.

 

District 7 Kinette History Book Award: is presented to the Kinette Club that submits the best club history in scrap book form of the events in which the club has participated in the year immediately preceding the District Convention.

Winner: Mt. Pearl Kinette Club.

Carmel Prior Memorial Public Speaking Award: Is presented to the best Kinette Public Speaker.

Winner: Catherine Costain, Fredericton Kinette Club.

Rupert Kethro Memorial Public Speaking Award: Is presented to the best Kinsmen Public Speaker.

Murdock MacKay Outstanding Kinsmen Deputy Governor Award: This award has the objective to stimulate interest in the Deputy Governors to be efficient in their Zone.

Marilyn Foote Memorial Outstanding Kinette Deputy Governor Award: This award has the objective to stimulate interest in the Deputy Governors to be efficient in their Zone.

Ken MacDonald Memorial District Convention Fellowship Award: This award was created in memory of L.M. Ken MacDonald who passed away before his time on May 5th, 2007. The purpose of the award is to Honour the member of Kin Canada Atlantic who best exemplifies the ideals of fellowship at District Convention that personified who Ken was:

Service Awards

 

Joe Beaton Memorial Service Award: – this award is named in honour of deceased Kinsmen Joe Beaton from the Kinsmen Club of West St. John’s, and is awarded to the Kinsmen Club who donates the most amount of money per member to the District Service Projects of CF &MS.

Winner: Goose-Happy Valley Kinsmen Club, $285.71 per member.

 

 

Beth Jordan Memorial Service Award: Named in honour of deceased Kinette Beth Jordan of the Kinette Club of Antigonish and is presented to the Kinette club who donates the greatest amount of money per member to the District Service Projects CF & MS.

Kevin Denbok Memorial Service Award: Presented in honour of deceased patient Singer/Song writer Kevin Denbok, who was the first person in the history of Kin to be made an honourary member of the Association. This award is presented to the club that contributes the greatest amount of monies to CF.

John Sears MS Service Award: Awarded to the Club who contributes the most amount of money per member to MS.

Linda Peckford Memorial Award: Named for past Deputy Governor Linda Peckford of the Kinette Club of Notre Dame. This award is presented to the Club who contributes the most money per capita to the Children’s Trust Fund.
