Annual General Meeting – Update

How is this all going to come together?

Here is a brief description as to how the Annual General Meeting will be conducted on Sunday August 23, 2020 @ 1pm Eastern.

The National Board of Directors will convene a meeting that will be broadcasted. Members will be able to access the broadcast after they have registered for the event. National President Brian Cooper will chair the proceedings and will be following a typical National Convention Annual Meeting. Members of the Board and the Executive Director will be able to present and answer questions from the membership.

The membership will be able to participate in the meeting through a moderator who will be monitoring the chat box that all participants will have access and the Kin Rules of Order will still be observed.

When it comes to voting, delegates will be provided instructions on how to vote, the process that is. The method for voting is included in the platform we are using for the broadcast. However, there may be the need to hold a separate vote that will require the use of another platform. This would mean that during the meeting, Accredited Delegates will need access to their emails as instructions would be sent to them through that means if required. We are still working out a few of the details, but that is what we are working with right now.

REGISTRATION PORTAL – Registration for AGM – We have not yet set up the actual registration dates, but members will be required, in the days preceding the AGM, to register. We will be alerting our membership on this as soon as possible.

CREDENTIALS PORTAL – Accreditations will also be opened prior to the day of the AGM, so delegates will be required to sign in a couple of days in advance of the meeting itself. We will be alerting the delegates of this as soon as possible.

ANNUAL REPORT – The Annual Report will be released on August 19 along with the Agenda, and any other document required for the meeting itself. Members will be directed to iKin to download that information

The meeting is scheduled to run from 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm at which it will be adjourned. At 5:00 pm, we will be hosting an Installation Ceremony on Zoom. The National Board will be sworn in and NVP Terri Iredale and our presumptive NVP Jennifer Lynn Burry will be installed as our National President and National Vice President respectively. We will also have NP Brian Cooper’s final address to the Association. In addition, we will be announcing the Outstanding District Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
