Miramichi Kinsmen Year End 2020-21
This past weekend the Kinsmen Club of the Miramichi held their annual closing party for the 2020-2021 year. We celebrated our achievements after facing one of the most challenging years the club has ever faced.
Every member in the club stepped up this year as we made major changes, and had to rethink our strategy in the face of that adversity. Especially moving our Bingo from the Lindon Rec to our new Radio Bingo on Rewind 95.9FM.
We were also honored to have members of the K40 Club present with their families. To hear their stories, to have their support, and their years of experience is an invaluable asset to our club.
The awards this year are as follows:
Michael Loggie and Steve Myles shared the prestigious Ken MacDonald Memorial Kinsmen of the Year Award, which is awarded to Kinsmen who best exemplify the aims of the association as a whole.
Justin Silliker received the Kinitiative Award, which is awarded to Kinsmen who have been members of the club who return to Kin and display a resurgence of commitment to the club.
Anthony Gray received the Kin Louis Gallant Memorial Award which is awarded to the Kinsmen, who like Kin Louis Gallant, best exemplifies the qualities of unselfish service to the community.
Past Governor and Current National Service Director Vicki Andrews performed the installation of the new executive:
Past President – Lucas Durelle
President – Brendan Manderson
Vice President – Shane Berry
Secretary – Anthony Gray
Treasurer – Michael Loggie
Membership Director – Tim Saunders (LM)
Service Director – Steve Myles (LM)
Education Director – Gord Butler (LM)
Communications Director – Justin Silliker
We were beyond proud to have been able to raise over $31,000 dollars during the 2020-2021 season and put in over 1400 hours of service.
We want to thank everyone on the Miramichi for their spirit of generosity and know that we are ready and excited for what the 2021-2022 year will bring!
