Accredited/Alternate Accredited Delegates Information
Fellow Kin,
This “hybrid” AGM means that all members have a choice of attending “in-person” OR “virtually” through a Zoom platform. It also means all Accredited Delegates can vote either in person or virtually.
As such, we have requested that clubs indicate on the Accredited Delegate (AD) Form, whether their Accredited Delegates and Alternate Accredited Delegates (AADs) will be attending “in person” or “virtually”. The
Accredited Delegate Form Package was previously distributed to Club Presidents and Club Secretaries on May 2
nd and is also available on
www.ikin.ca under the
2022 National Convention page.
In providing this hybrid model to all, the distinction between attendance for ADs/AADs is very important. Letting us know helps us plan and prepare properly and helps make the process run more smoothly the day of. It also supports the NBOD’s priority of ensuring all who are in attendance can be seen and heard regardless of whether they opt to attend in person or virtually.
Regular show of hands votes will still be used for general voting (for both in person and virtual ADs). We will be using the “Simply Voting Online Election System” Platform for anything other than “show of hands” votes at this AGM. This is the platform used last year with great success. We are NOT handing out any paper ballots in club-addressed envelopes that day.
IMPORTANT: To streamline our processes, we will be credentialling ALL Accredited Delegates and Alternate Accredited Delegates in advance of the AGM.

The above timeslots are the only planned Credentialling times for the AGM for all AD/AADs. Note that you only need to attend one and you will not need to attend for the full duration.
The Credentialling process will follow the same pattern as last year. You will drop into a Zoom Meeting on one of the offered days during the designated times offered. Once you are Credentialed, you are able to leave. We will continue communicating information and reminders about the process in the weeks ahead.
The in advance credentialling will provide for a quicker and streamlined validation process on the morning of the AGM, where in-person credentialed ADs will collect their voting cards and present themselves as present to the AGM. Simultaneously, we will be validating the attendance of all virtual credentialed ADs.
Please remember that it is crucial that ALL ADs and AADs are prepared to vote with a device (eg., cell phone, tablet, laptop, or computer) that can be used to access their email, regardless of whether they are attending the annual AGM in person or virtually.
Please be aware it is vital that your Internet/Wifi be a strong signal, as the National Board of Directors cannot be responsible for the strength of your signal or the weather day of the AGM.
The National Board of Directors strives to move forward on this strategic priority of the current Strategic Plan, namely enabling ALL members to participate in Meetings of the Members, whether they are in person at the AGM or attending virtually.
Please remember the deadline date for filing your Accredited Delegate Form for 2022 National Convention is July 15th by 11:59 pm EDT.
