Secretary/Coordinator

Hi everyone, my name is Peggy Hefler. I joined the Kinette Club of Sackville in 1997 and in May 2016 was
presented with my Life Membership Award. Over the past 27 years I have held almost every club
executive position, including the office of Club President 5 times. At Zone level I have held the Zone B
Deputy Governor position twice. I have been fortunate to be on several District teams. I have held the
positions of District Membership Director (similar to today’s Club Support Officer), Communications
Officer, District Treasurer (for 2 years), District Service Director and District Governor.
When I first joined Kin, I was quiet, shy and tended to blend in. I was happy being involved, but in the
background. Over time I not only worked on projects but co-chaired and chaired projects ranging from
caterings to wine tastings, dances to our Christmas Family, BBQs to conferences. I have been fortunate
to participate in numerous great projects, work with many great teams and great leaders.
Through my experiences in Kin, I not only became more confident and willing to step out of my comfort
zone, but also gained valuable leadership skills that assisted in the growth and development in my
personal career. Kin has not only given me the opportunity of personal growth, but also the ability to
volunteer and help my community, and the opportunity to meet a variety of people and form lifelong
friendships.
My roll this year on the District team is the District Secretary Coordinator. I am looking forward to
learning new skills and working with a great group of members from across our District!
