Fellow Kin, District 7

I am deeply honored and I thank each and every one of you that have supported, guided and placed their trust in me, I am truly grateful for this opportunity, to represent our incredible organization, Kin Canada District 7 as your Governor.

I am humbled, not only because of the title that I am being honored with, but more so because of the caliber of the people I am about to represent. To have the privilege to serve this association, that is comprised of members that do such important work in our communities to make our communities a better place for us, our children and our grandchildren this is truly what makes this responsibility so important to me.

I have been married to my best friend Wendy for 37 years. We have one daughter, Megan, who is a nurse and is married to an RCMP member, (Mike). They will be moving to Twillingate, Newfoundland this summer from William’s Lake BC. They are expecting their first child and our first Grandchild in Feb 2020.

I am a proud veteran of 34 years with the Canadian Armed Forces. I am currently a Federal Public Servant working as the Information Systems Security Officer for TRINITY in the Dockyard Halifax.

I am the next link in a long chain of dedicate volunteers that have served as Governor of District 7, a chain that reaches back to the spring of 1936 where the first link was held by Kin A.L (Gal) Galbraith from St John New Brunswick . While I hold this torch I pledge to continue the important and valued work of those that came before me. I will represent District 7 membership in the public and with National professionally, I will foster and encourage growth of our extraordinary organization of dedicated volunteers, and I will personally be of service to as many members as I am able. Thank you again for the confidence you have placed in me, and for the privilege to serve as your Governor in the 100th year of Kin, the 84th year of District 7. I welcome your thoughts, your suggestions and your opinions. I will do my best for you, for our District.

Yours in Kin

Patrick Bowers
Governor 2019 – 2020
