I have considered joining the Kin Association one of the better decisions I have made in my life. I have been a very active member for every year I have been a member.   I joined the family of Kin – Kinsmen Club of Sackville back in May of 1990.  I transferred to the Kinsmen Club of Halifax in 2006 which is now the Kin Club of Halifax.  I have always been a very active member.  I have held all Executive positions at least twice and I was Deputy Governor back in 1997/98.  I have also received many awards throughout my Kin Career.

My wife Laurie whom I have been married to for 38 years is a member of the Kin Club of Halifax. We have a son and a daughter.   Greg who is 37 years old is married and has one child, our Granddaughter Kennedy.  Lisa who is 32 years old is married and just recently gave birth to our second Granddaughter, Addie.

For the past 31 years I have been working as a manager for the Province of Nova Scotia in the Records and Information Management field. I have enjoyed my job but I see retirement on the horizon to which I am looking forward to.

I look forward to being your governor. There are many challenges and goals to be met.  The team will take each one on and we will do the best we can to resolve them.  If any member has any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the Council.

Yours in Kin,

Governor Richard
