Santa Claus Parade
FREDERICTON SANTA CLAUS PARADE – NOVEMBER 30, 2024
Fredericton’s annual Santa Claus Parade will be taking place on November 30, 2024 on the northside and it is going to be our 50th year in holding this parade. The Parade will form on Devonshire Drive and proceed left onto Union Street westerly towards Main Street and continuing along Main Street until it reaches Johnson Avenue where presently it is planned for the parade to disembark. The Kin Club of Nashwaaksis is proud to have been hosts to Fredericton’s annual Santa Claus Parade for more than 4 decades and counting. The Parade alternates each year between the North and South sides of the river and for the last number of years has been a night time parade.
FREDERICTON SANTA CLAUS PARADE 2024
This year’s Santa Claus Parade will be our 50th year of hosting this event. This year’s parade will be on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Applications to be in the parade will be available shortly.
Fredericton Santa Claus Parade 2023
The Annual Fredericton Santa Claus Parade will be taking place this year on Saturday, November 25, 2023 beginning at 5 p.m. This year’s parade will be on the southside of the city.
Parade will form along St. Anne’s Point Drive (the two eastbound lanes from Regent Street to the Westmorland Street Bridge will be closed to traffic) and entrants will be guided to their position in the parade by Kin members on site. Parade will turn right from St. Anne’s Point Drive onto Queen Street and follow that street down to Risteen’s Landing where it will then loop back onto St. Anne’s Point Drive to where the Parade started and floats can disembark.
THERE WILL BE NO PARKING ALLOWED ON QUEEN STREET BETWEEN REGENT STREET AND CARLETON STREET ON BOTH SIDES OF QUEEN STREET TO ACCOMMODATE LARGER FLOATS
Parade leaves at 5 p.m.

The Annual Fredericton Santa Claus Parade will be taking place this year on Saturday, November 26, 2022 beginning at 5 p.m. This year’s parade will be on the northside – The Parade will leave Devonshire Drive by turning left onto Union Street at the corner of Cliff Street and Union Street travelling west along Union Street heading towards Main Street and continuing along Main Street until it reaches Johnson Avenue where the Parade will disembark.

SANTA PARADE 2021 NEWS
Santa Claus will be coming to town – Fredericton’s 2021 Santa Claus Parade is a go. Parade will be on the southside this year – forming on St. Anne’s Point Drive, turning right onto Queen Street, going down Queen Street and ending on St. Anne’s Point Drive. Parade will be on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 5 p.m. Applications to be in the parade will be available shortly and we will be announcing this year’s theme. Stay tuned for further detail.
PARADE INFORMATION/RULES

IMPORTANT
NOTES: ALL FLOATS WILL ENTER ST. ANNE’S POINT DRIVE FROM THE ROUNDABOUT ON SMYTHE STREET AND TRAVEL EASTBOUND ALONG ST. ANNE’S POINT DRIVE AND BE DIRECTED BY KIN PERSONNEL FROM THAT POINT.
ANYONE ASSOCIATED WITH A FLOAT SHOULD PARK IN THE PARKING LOT BEHIND THE LIBRARY FOR SET UP AND ANYONE DROPPING OFF PARTICIPANTS SHOULD DO SO IN THAT PARKING LOT
ALL LARGER FLOATS (ANY FLOAT OVER 30 FEET) MUST HAVE AT LEAST TWO ADULTS WALKING ON EACH SIDE OF THE FLOAT TO MONITOR THE FLOAT AND ENSURE CROWDS REMAIN WELL BACK
THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS ON THE FLOATS IS LIMITED TO 1 PERSON TO EVERY 2 FEET OF FLOAT SPACE. (I.E. 50 FT. FLOAT = 25 PEOPLE ON THE FLOAT). ENSURE VEHICLE/FLOAT COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE GETTING OFF.
NO WALKING PARTICIPANTS ALLOWED ALONGSIDE THE FLOATS ONCE THE PARADE IS IN MOTION EXCEPT FOR FLOAT MONITORS.
NO CANDY THROWING FROM THE FLOATS. WALKING PARTICIPANTS MAY PASS CANDY TO WALKING PUBLIC.
PARTICIPANTS SHOULD KEEP WITHIN 12" WHEN ON FLOAT. (NO LEG HANGING)
WALKING ENTRIES MUST BE BETWEEN FLOATS IN PLAIN VIEW. LEAVE 20 FEET BETWEEN ALL FLOAT ENTRIES.
PLEASE ENSURE ALL DRIVERS ARE ADVISED TO KEEP PACE WITH THE ENTRY IN FRONT OF THEM. I.E. NO GAPS
FREDERICTON FIRE DEPARTMENT
MEMORANDUM
Organizers and participants must adhere to the following guidelines:
- No open flames are to be used;
- No extra fuel for any generators to be carried on vehicles;
- All generators MUST be fueled before the start of the parade;
- There is nothing stored near the generators;
- An approved ABC type fire extinguisher with a rating of at least 2A 10BC is to be carried on each float/truck;
- Sparklers (1,200 F degrees) are not to be used. Non flammable glow sticks or flashlights are recommended if personal illumination is required.
